Description

The USDA Forest Service, Pacific Northwest Research Station, intends to negotiate a "follow-on" contract with ESRI of Redlands, CA, for reengineering of the EMDS system. ESRI developed EMDS over a period of five years following competitive award of Contract Number 53-0109-5-00398. EMDS was ultimately implemented as a programming extension to ESRI's ArcView geographic information system (GIS) product. Reengineering of EMDS is necessary for compatibility with ArcView 8.1 and for it to be a platform-independent application based on Common Object Model (COM) and Java. The contract time will extend from January 1, 2001 through August 31, 2001. All responses received by November 20, 2000, COB (local time) will be considered.
