Description

The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers Marine Design Center/Philadelphia District intends to acquire three, newly constructed steel, deck cargo barges to serve the New Orleans District (CEMVN) in support on its mission. The barges will be of all-welded, steel construction, and will be designed, built, and classed to American Bureau of Shipping rules. The dimensions of the barges are 120 feet long, 30 feet wide, and 7 feet deep. They will be raked at both ends and have flat decks with no sheer. The decks will be designed to support a 2000 p.s.f. loading with a hearty, " thick plate to assure a long service life. The resultant contract will utilize a multi-phased contracting methodology. Liquidated damages will be included and bonding is required. The issue date for the solicitation is on, or about, December 7, 2000, with bid opening on, or about January 11, 2001. Solicitation documents will be furnished on CD-ROM only; hard copies will not be available. Offerors are responsible for printing paper copies of the solicitation. One copy of the CD-ROM will be furnished to each requestor at no charge. Requests for a CD-ROM shall be made by registering at the Web site listed below. Alternatively, requests may be submitted by fax to (215) 656-6780 or 6798. All requests must include a physical street address, telephone number, fax number, point of contact, and business size. Additional copies of the CD-ROM will be provided at a charge of $5.00/CD. Checks must be made payable to "USACE Finance Center, Millington" to the above address. Your firms Federal Tax Identification Number must be written on the check. Personal checks must be annotated with the individuals SSN. Bidders may view and (or) download this solicitation and all amendments from the Internet at the following address: http://ebs.nap.usace.army.mil/ADP/AdvertisedSolicitations.asp on or after issue date of the solicitation; however, the official media of distribution for the solicitation is the CD-ROM. The NAIC code is 3366612 and the small business size is 1000 employees. This procurement is totally set aside for small business. To be eligible for award, contractors must be registered in the DoDs Central Contractor Register. Instructions will be included in the solicitation.
