- Description
- The U. S. Postal Service is soliciting proposals to renovate a 24,000 sf leased building at 151 Woodward Ave. in the City of Norwalk, CT to be used for a new Postal Carrier Annex. Major work items include sitework consisting of paving, fencing, exterior lighting and concrete walkways and steps. The interior work consists of new rooftop HVAC units, suspended ceiling, lights, VCT flooring, construction of interior offices, toilets, break rooms and miscellaneous support spaces. The project will also include the construction of a Criminal Investigative Office to be used by the USPS Inspection Service. This work will consist of the construction of a 200 sf office and the installation of a VICON CCTV system throughout the building. The estimated cost of the work is between $1.5 and $2.0 million, with completion within two hundred (240) calendar days after receipt of notice to proceed. Sealed offers will be received in this office prior to, but no later than, 4:00 p.m. on December 7, 2000. Offers will not be publicly opened. The number of offers received, the identity of the offerors, the amount of any offer, or relative standing of the offerors WILL NOT BE DISCLOSED TO ANYONE until award of contract is made. Proposal documents, plans and specifications will be available o/a November 8, 2000 at a cost of $75.00 per set (non-refundable) from the Facilities Service Office, U. S. Postal Service, 6 Griffin Road North, Windsor, CT 06006-0300. Only certified checks or money orders will be accepted, made payable to the Disbursing Officer, U. S. Postal Service (Reference Solicitation No. 082530-01-A-0008). Plans may be inspected at the issuing office and information regarding their availability may be obtained by contacting Catherine Delasco at (860) 285-7191. Questions concerning the technical aspects of the proposal should be directed to John W. There will be a preproposal conference for this project on Tuesday, November 28, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. at the rear of the building. Prospective offerors should not try to visit the site on their own without prior approval of the USPS Project Manager, John W. Nielsen, (860) 285-7120. Proposals will be evaluated on 1) price; and 2) contractor qualification package, which must be submitted with the proposal. Guidelines for other project requirements are outlined in the specifications. The successful offeror will be required to submit a 100% performance bond and 100% payment bond before award of contract is made. This is not a formal invitation for bid; therefore, no bid bond or proposal guarantee is required. The project will be awarded to the offeror who submits the best combination of price and qualifications.
