Description
In order to populate a technology resource base, a request for information is solicited to provide input for technologies in support of requirements for military robotic systems forecasted to 2025. Requirements are anticipated for military robotic systems that will operate semi autonomously to perform missions that are hazardous, and require extended force capabilities in operations such as mine clearing, scout, weapon payloads, Nuclear, biological and chemical detection and decontamination, and various sensor capabilities. Technologies to support these requirements through 2025 are expected to be in the areas of perception, artificial intelligence, mobility, human-machine interface, communications and sensors. Technology contributions are requested in the development of those technologies that could support robotic system development on the system, subsystem and/or component level. Technology contributions may be in the form of reports, hardware, or software. No funds shall be expended in this effort to obtain technology contributions. Contractors are requested to fill out a form for the technology database assessment. Details of the technology developments should be provided in the technology database assessment form and can be requested from e-mail address: techassessment@redstone.army.mil. Forms should be completed and re-submitted via the e-mail address provided in this announcement. This request for information is in support of the Unmanned Ground Vehicles/Systems Joint Project Office (UGV/S JPO), Joint Robotics Program (JRP), Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), and will be valuable as input into future planning efforts for the Department of Defense in assessing and ultimately fielding robotic systems in support of the soldier. Submission should be made NLT 30 days after this announcement. Questions concerning this announcement should be directed to Mr. Phil Walker at telephone 256-955-7045.
