Description

DESC: The Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization (DITCO) intends to issue a one-year sole source extension to Contract DCA200-98-D-0055, a firm fixed price contract, which provides commercial Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) service for 24 Government sites. The contractor is MCI WorldCom, 8100 Boone Boulevard, Suite 420, Vienna, VA 22182-2642. The purpose of the extension is to bridge the services between the extisting contract and competitively awarded contract actions, under which preparation for provision of services will begin soon. The DIATMS contract is in support of expansion of DISA's Defense Information Systems Network (DISN) ATM Services -- Unclassified Network (DATMS-U). The statutory authority for other than full and open competition is 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1). This contract action continues services until the new contracts are in position to provide the services and the requirements are transitioned to those contracts. See Numbered Note 22.
