Description
The Naval Air Station (NAS), Meridian, MS (NASMER) reporting to the Chief of Naval Education and Training (CNET) is seeking industry interest in providing services to operate several Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) activities located on site at NAS Meridian. This synopsis is not a Request for Proposals but is a sources sought announcement issued for information and planning purposes to identify potential sources for the performance of these services. Information submitted by respondees will be used to assist in the A-76 10 and under Study. The work encompasses: Bowling Center operation including operation of the snack bar; Bowling equipment maintenance and repair; recreational services in athletics/sports including organizing and administering NASMER's athletic program, conducting division and regional inter-command sports tournaments, liaison with the community and other commands athletic programs, operation of a full service gymnasium to including but not limited to clothing and equipment issue and maintenance; recreational services in community activities which encompasses a comprehensive program of social, cultural, entertainment, educational, and recreation activities that meet identified needs and interests and promotes a positive use of leisure time; and providing library services to include managing and maintaining unbiased print, audio, video and electronic collections, providing library orientation, ready reference, in depth research, training in the use of materials and electronic equipment among other duties. No telephone requests will be accepted. The work studied is performed by less than ten (10) civil service civilian employees. The decision to retain in-house or to outsource will be made on the basis of information submitted by interested parties as well as that gathered from other sources. In the event that it is found to be advantageous for the Navy to outsource the work described above, formal solicitation will be synopsized and issued.
