Description

Single award formal bid contract for production and delivery of perfect bound and saddle-stitched books for the Dept of Energy. Order consists of four 216 x 279 mm (8-1/2 x 11") volumes: 3,000 copies of Vol. I print 886 perfect-bound black-only and four-color process text pages plus cover; 3,000 copies of Vol. II print 336 perfect-bound black-only and four-color process text pages plus cover; 3,000 copies of Vol. III print 236 perfect-bound black-only and four-color process text pages plus cover; 10,000 copies of Overview Vol. print 64 saddle-stitched four-color process text pages plus cover. Books print on 215 gsm (80 lb) litho (gloss) cover and 105 gsm (70 lb) litho (gloss) text stocks. Overview volume includes CD-ROM pocket affixed to Cover 3. Required contract operations include digital output of copy from furnished digital copy, proofs, press check, bindery check, Quality Level 2 printing (computer-to-plate means and methods acceptable), binding, fabrication/affixing of CD-ROM pocket, insertion of furnished CD-ROM discs into CD-pocket, shrink wrapping, boxing, and partial MUST delivery of 1,500 four-volume sets by 12/18/00.
