***This project is set-a-side for small business but ANY INTERESTED PARTY IS ENCOURAGED TO PARTICIPATE; should there be no responsive small business interests.*** The Department of Justice (DOJ), subject to the availability of funds, requires a contractor to design and construct a solid, seamless, hand-knotted wool area carpet. The dimensions of the carpet are 17 feet wide by 35 feet long. The wool carpet shall be of high-quality with long-wear durability. The contractor shall provide all equipment, materials, and labor required for the work described herein. Only new, unused material are acceptable. The delivery and installation of the carpet shall be at the DOJ, 950 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20530. Parking is not available on-site; however, a freight elevator and off-street unloading is available for small trucks. On-site personnel require security clearance which can be accomplished by providing name, date of birth and social security number four days prior to the start of work Sources are invited to prepare a quote for the design, construction, and installation of this carpet. All prospective bidders must attend a Pre-bid Conference and Site Survey at the DOJ, 950 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20530 on December 14, 2000. Your request for the package and to register for the Pre-bid Conference must be received by December 7, 2000. Quotes should be sent to Ms. Fleming at the above address, no later than 5:00 p.m. [eastern] on January 5, 2001. Quotes received after 5:00 p.m., January 5, 2001 will not be considered in the evaluation. This project is subject to the provisions established in the Walsh-Healey Public Contracts Act.*****
