Description
ISSUE DATE: 11/29/00. Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, supervision and disposal necessary for the removal of the existing A/C units (3), associated exterior ductwork and appurtenances, and the existing thermostats. The work involves the installation of new A/C units (3), associated exterior ductwork and appurtenances, new thermostats and duct access doors and miscellaneous related work. The Contractor shall also verify the fire suppression system interlocks. Repair washout of concrete pad and construct a concrete swale to redirect downspout discharge. There are two optional bid items: (1) Remove fire dampers (3) in A/C unit ducts. Install new motorized smoke dampers (3) in place of fire dampers to include power and fire suppression system interlock for dampers and A/C units. (2) Remove damper in transfer air duct. Install new motorized smoke damper in place of removed damper to include power and fire suppression system interlock for damper and transfer fan. Estimated cost of this project is between $100,000 and $250,000 dollars. NAIC code is 235610. Solicitation packages to be available on or about 11/29/00. The bid opening date is on or about 01/03/01. This project is issued pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program, and is unrestricted. THE FOLLOWING NOTICE IS PROVIDED AS INFORMATION FOR MINORITY, WOMEN-OWNED, AND DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS ENTERPRISES: The Dept of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, payment and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are available under the DOT Short-term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The max. line of credit is $500,000.
