Description

The U.S. Department of Justice, Justice Management Division is seeking proposals for the modernization of two elevators at Building NS-61 at the US Border Patrol Satellite Academy, Charleston, SC. Elevator #1 is currently used as a freight elevator and is located near the front entrance to the building. The existing conditions include a vertical opening split door. The modernization of this elevator will include its conversion from a freight elevator function to a passenger elevator function. The existing vertical acting split door will have to be replaced with a horizontal acting door along with almost all other elements of the elevator, with the exception of the side rails. Elevator #2 is a passenger elevator and is located in the east wing of the building. The existing elevator machine, among other elements can remain in use. A pre-proposal site visit will be held -- date to be specified in the Request for Proposal (RFP). The Government's estimate of the magnitude of this project is between 250,000 -- 500,000. This is a 100% small business set-aside. The RFP will be available about November 27, 2000 and will be distributed solely through the General Services Administrations Electronic Posting System (EPS) web site at http://www.eps.gov (hard copies of the RFP will not be available). The EPS site provides downloading instructions. All future information about this acquisition, including RFP amendments, will also be distributed solely through the EPS site. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring the EPS site to assure that they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition.
