Description

The RFP for the cost comparison study for the most efficient and cost effective method of providing distribution services in the management and operation of the Defense Distribution Depot, Richmond, Virginia (DDRV), Solicitation SP0700-01-R-7008 will be available and is anticipated for issuance on or about November 15, 2000 over the Internet at the following address: http://www.supply.dla.mil/a76. The resultant contract awarded, if any, will be awarded on an all or none basis as a Fixed Price (IDIQ) Contract with Cost Reimbursement Provisions. The contract performance period will be a three year base period with the potential of an additional two year option period. This requirement will be issued on an unrestricted basis. SIC and Size Standard is 4225 -- 18.5M. This solicitation will not result in a contract if Government performance is determined to be more advantageous in accordance with OMB Circular A-76 procedures. Hard copies of the RFP will not be available. The RFP closing date is February 2, 2001. The Site visit is scheduled to begin on Sunday, December 3, 2000 at 8:00 a.m., with registration beginning at 7:30 a.m. The purpose of the site visit is to afford potential offerors the opportunity to view the facilities and operations that are stated in the solicitation. The Pre-Proposal Conference is scheduled to begin on Monday, December 4, 2000 at 8:00 a.m., with DSS being addressed at the Pre-Proposal Conference. The purpose of the conference is to do an in-depth review of the solicitation. In order to promote an informative and successful site visit, only those having confirmed reservations on or before November 30, 2000 will be permitted. Please include attendee name(s), company, address, and telephone number. Confirmation will be by return e-mail. Please note that only a maximum of four attendees will be accepted -- two to attend the Site visit and two to attend the Pre-Proposal Conference.
