Description
Background: The Defense Microelectronics Activity (DMEA) requires information technology support services. DMEA, located in Sacramento, California, is under the authority, direction, and control of the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Logistics. In addition to supporting numerous Defense organizations, DMEA also supports other federal agencies, state Governments, U.S. industry, and foreign entities. DMEA provides technologically correct and economically viable solutions to microelectronics obsolescence. Requirements: Develop, install, integrate, manage, and maintain DMEA engineering computer systems. These support services shall include, but not be limited to: computer systems support, network systems support, Exchange Server administration, trouble reporting system support, training, developing user guides and program specification documentation, technical and computer equipment maintenance support, Internet and Intranet development and support, database management, utility and application software support, telecommunications system support, access control system support, and security surveillance system support. The DMEA information technology environment is in a constant state of change. Examples of elements of DMEA's current information technology environment requiring support include, but is not limited to, the following: The hardware to be supported includes, but is not limited to: personal computers (Pentium I, II, and III), Macintosh computers, Windows 2000 and NT servers, UNIX workstations/servers, SUN Ultra workstations/servers, Silicon Graphics workstations/servers, SUN SPARCstation, Intergraph 6800 workstations, Alpha multiprocessor servers, HP 9000 Series, HP82000, Notebook PCs, Palm Pilots, color and black-and-white laser printers, color inkjet printers, Kodak Dye Sublimation printers, Helios Polaroid printers, color and black-and-white scanners, Intergraph 1124 B-size color scanner, Anatech E-size scanner, fingerprint scanners, EnCad NovaJet 36 Pro plotter, Xerox Express 54 plotter, GE 3-gun projectors, InFocus 725 projectors, Hugh/JVC LCD projectors, Sharp LCD projectors. Network protocols include TCP/IP, Appletalk, LAT, and Net BEUI. The telecommunications hardware and software to be supported includes, but is not limited to: Tadiran Coral III PBX (including CoralAir Basestations, CoralAir Handsets, Coral Message Center, Moscone Emerald CAS for Windows, Tadiran digital phones, interface to public address system, interface to access control system door release, TeLANophy Software, APDL Integration, and FAX feature package for Coral Message Center), ProComm Soundstations, IBM OS/2 Warp 4, Novell Netware, Omtool FAX SR, and Cat 3 and 5 UPT cabling. The security and access control system to be supported includes, but is not limited to: American Dynamics Keyboards, Switcher, and software, exterior pan, zoom, tilt cameras and enclosures, interior fit camera and monitors, Sony time-lapse VCRs, Gotcha! digital recording software, Northern Computers (1000N Controllers and Win-Pak 2.0 Software), HID (MiniProx and MaxiProx card readers), Data Card (printers, digital camera, signature pad, and badge production software), passive infrared (PIR) sensors, 20 milliamp loop cabling, and uninterruptible power supplies ( APC, Toshiba, Powerware, and other UPSs from 300VA to 75KVA with PowerChute software and temperature sensor cards). Estimated period of performance: 5 years plus options to extend services/term of the contract. Place of performance: Defense Microelectronics Activity (DMEA), McClellan, California. Normal hours of operation: 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Support may be required during evenings, weekends, and holidays. Due to the critical nature of the required support, it is anticipated that on-site technical expertise during normal hours of operation for each support requirement and the specific systems and software listed will be required. A Secret security clearance for some contractor personnel may be required. It is anticipated an in-depth technical proposal will be required as part of proposal submissions.
