- Description
- The Project Manager for the Tactical Operations Centers/Air and Missile Defense Command and Control Systems (PM TOCs/AMDCCS) is hosting an Industry Day on December 13, 2000 at Redstone Arsenal, AL, for the presentation of general information on the projected future Army requirements for the Army Aviation Command and Control System (A2C2S). The A2C2S industry day briefing is scheduled to begin at 0900 in the Rocket Auditorium, Building 7120, Redstone Road, Redstone Arsenal, AL. The A2C2S is an airborne command and control system that utilizes the Army Battle Command System and is hosted in the Black Hawk (UH-60) helicopter. The A2C2S Product Manager will provide information to industry regarding the Army's vision for the mission for the A2C2S. General information will also be made available on the Government's planned acquisition strategy for the A2C2S. The Army Product Manager will discuss the plan for progression from the existing Army developed A2C2S prototypes to the next phase of A2C2S development. The Government plans the selection of a contractor through the "Best Value" competitive source selection process to continue the evolutionary A2C2S development and to be the prime contractor for engineering, production, integration, training, and logistics for the A2C2S in the Black Hawk helicopter. General timelines and schedules will also be addressed. Performance on the projected A2C2S requirements at the prime or subcontractor level will require access to defense information that is not considered appropriate for release to non-US companies. A2C2S contract performance will require that the contractor have a Secret U.S. issued facility security clearance and be able to receive, generate, and store classified material. The contractor will also be required to provide personnel with secret U.S. issued security clearances for contract performance. Companies not eligible for U.S. clearances and who want to participate as subcontractors would have to request the releasable part of any future RFP by submitting an official request via their embassy to HQDA. All interested industry vendors are invited to attend. The point of contact is Jeri Kirkpatrick at (256) 876-2838 or David Ludwig, Contracting Officer at (256) 842-6000, FAX number (256)842-7684, U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command, ATTN: AMSAM-AC-SM-C, Redstone Arsenal, AL, 35898-5280. The PM TOCs/AMDCCS will consider responding to certain industry questions submitted in writing to the contracting officer by December 08, 2000.
