- Description
- INTERNET ANNOUCEMENT <p> The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has a competitive requirement for contractor services to provide and maintain aircraft on a "non-exclusive use" basis to support the Operations Branch training program. The contractor will be required to (1) locate, provide, and deliver required aircraft; (2) ensure that the aircraft delivered meets the training requirements of the branch; and (3) provide maintenance by maintaining certified mechanics, parts, and line service for all aircraft supplied, while ensuring continued airworthiness and availability of the required aircraft. The required aircraft will be limited to small reciprocating powered single and multiengine aircraft under 12,500 pounds maximum certificated takeoff weight (MCTOW), turboprop powered aircraft under 20,000 pounds MCTOW and turbojet powered aircraft under 35,000 pounds MCTOW. Interested contractors are not required to propose on all aircraft. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code is 7359. The contract will be for a 9-month base period including three 1-year option periods to be exercised at the option of the government. <p> All interested sources should first attempt to download the solicitation from the Internet at www.asu.faa.gov, contracting opportunities. Requests should be submitted to the attention of Joe Smith and reference DTFA-02-52-R-0014377A. <p> This Notice is for informational purposes for Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization, has a program to assist small businesses, small businesses owned and controlled by a socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, and women-owned concerns to acquire short-term working capital assistance for transportation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
