Description

The proposed work consist of furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, and incidentals necessary for the construction of 1.08 km of roadway including drain, aggregate base course, hot bituminous concrete pavement, single span prestress box beam bridges and miscellaneous construction Project N221(1)1,2&4 near Shonto, Arizona on the Navajo Reservation Invitation for Bid Number N00-01-05, Bid Opening Date: December 22, 2000 at 2:00 P.M. local time at place of bid opening. This project is Set-Aside for 51% Indian-Owned and Controlled Concerns. This is a Labor Surplus Area Set-Aside. The estimated price range for this project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Section 7(B) of PL 93-638 (U.S.C. 450E) and 41 CFR 14-1.354 require that preference opportunities in employment and training to be given to Indian/Alaska Native Individuals and that preference in the award of subcontracts be given to Indian/Alaska Native Economic Enterprises. Failure by the Contractor to submit a plan for doing so prior to award and implement same after award shall be sufficient reason for non-award or termination of the contract for default.
