Description

The USDA Forest Products Laboratory is soliciting proposals for a construction project in Buildings 39 and 40 located at 502 and 504 North Walnut St., Madison, WI. The scope of the work consists of providing all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, testing, supplies and performing the work required to replace the existing electrical service entrances and related feeders, panel boards; upgrade grounding systems; provide new exterior lighting; coordinate electrical utility work with electric utility company and removing all unused or abandoned electrical equipment. These buildings are leased to the University of Wisconsin for medical research studies. It is necessary for the contractor to conduct the work in a manner that minimally impacts the facility operation. Contract Time is 180 calendar days. Award of a firm-fixed price contract is anticipated. Price range is estimated between $100,000 and 250,000. Contractor selection will be based on best value as determined by the government based on evaluation criteria identified in the RFP, including experience, past performance and price. This acquisition is set aside for small business. A Bid Guarantee in the amount of 20% of your bid price is required with your proposal. Within 10 days after award of the contract, the contractor must submit a performance bond in the penal sum of 100% of the original contract price, and a payment bond in the penal sum of 50% of the contract price. The solicitation package will be available on or about January 8,2001. Interested parties are to submit written requests via email, fax or mail service. Phone calls will not be accepted. A pre-bid site visit is planned for Thursday, January 18, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. Proposals are due February 8, 2001 at 2:00PM CST. Since this is a negotiated acquisition, a public bid opening will not be held. See Note 1.
