- Description
- The University of California, which operates the Los Alamos National Laboratory under contract to the Department of Energy, solicits interest from companies interested in collaborating with Los Alamos National Laboratory in a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) and/or an exclusive or nonexclusive license agreement to commercialize, manufacture and market a new Optical Encoding Method, hereinafter referred to as "Technology". This Technology is the subject of an invention disclosure and provides a simple illumination-based encoding method for determining the 3-dimensional coordinates of points located on the surface of an object. Any organization interested in licensing the Technology or in partnering with Los Alamos National Laboratory to develop the Technology for their specific application(s) must respond with a Letter of Interest. The Letter of Interest shall include a description of the company's (1) business and business goals; (2) technical staff and resources; (3) financial resources; (4) manufacturing and marketing capabilities; and (5) motivation for pursuing this opportunity. Respondents are encouraged to provide ancillary documentation such as annual reports and technical publications. The Letter of Interest must provide this information for the respondent to be considered as a qualified respondent. The Letter of Interest is requested to be submitted by November 28, 2000. Following the execution of a Nondisclosure Agreement, qualified respondents will be provided with technical data that will enable them to evaluate the Technology. Qualified respondents that wish to enter into negotiations for a commercial license will be required to submit a comprehensive business plan or product commercialization plan prior to licensee(s) selection and negotiations. Please send Letters of Interest to the attention of Laura Barber, Los Alamos National Laboratory, Industrial Business Development Program Office, Mail Stop C334, Los Alamos, New Mexico 87545; email [ljbb@lanl.gov].
