- Description
- The Maritime Administration is seeking qualified sources capable of providing full support as the manager of a shipboard -- water chemistry treatment program. The program should encompass the following major components: High pressure boiler and feedwater treatment, diesel engine coolant treatment, evaporation/distiller treatment, salt water treatment, and scale removal. Qualified sources must be capable of providing; all chemicals, laboratory testing, and analysis services; shipboard training, shipboard test kits, logbooks and manuals, automated tracking/monitoring of all services, product inventory, reports and fund. Services must be available on a worldwide basis 24 hours a day/ 7 days a week, to support the Ready Reserve Fleet (RRF) vessels activated for national defense purposes or military exercise. Qualified sources must have a proven background of providing services of the type identified to the commercial marine industry. Interested offerors may respond to this notice by downloading the solicitation from this site. Should an award be made as a result of this solicitation, it shall be for ONE (1) base year, with four -- one year options. A pre-proposal conference is scheduled for 10:00 A.M. 6 December 2000 in the MARAD Operations Center. Responses shall be submitted and received not later than 9 January 2001 at 2:00 P.M (Eastern Time) to: U. S. The Department of Transportation (DOT) offers working capital financing and bonding assistance for transportation related contracts, DOT's Bonding Assistance Program (BAP) offers bid, performance and payment bonds on contracts up to $1,000,000. DOT's Short-Term Lending Program (STLP) offers lines of credit to finance accounts receivable. Maximum line of credit is $500,000 with interest at the prime rate.
