- Description
- This is a total Emerging Small Business Set-aside. An Emerging Small Business is defined as a small business concern who's size is no greater than 50% of the numerical size standard applicable to the NAICS code assigned to this announcement. NAICS code for this announcement is 541330. The small business size standard for this code is $4.0 million; therefore, the emerging small business size standard is $2.0 million. Provide A/E design services to include site evaluation, determination of requirements, recommendations & design for Project #534-01-105, Renovate Medical Gas System at the Ralph H. Johnson DVA Medical Center, Charleston, SC. Specifically, this project will provide corrections to deficiencies identified during a recent medical gas inspection. Medical air compressors & air dryers will be replaced, medical gas master alarms will be installed where needed, zone valves will be properly located throughout the Medical Center, the medical air system will be purged & tested, and the entire medical gas system will be recertified. Final plans & specifications are required to be ready for issue by June 11, 2001. Estimated construction: $182,000.00. Disciplines involved are primarily mechanical, but other disciplines may be needed. All professional services shall be a part of the design team announced in the SF 254's & 255's. Specific evaluation factors, not in priority order shall be: 1) Professional team proposed for this project. 2) Specialized experience & technical competence, for design & construction, by all members of the team. 3) Proposed design approach for this project & management plan. 4) Location & facilities of working offices within a two hundred (200) mile geographical radius of Charleston, SC, including the prime firm & consultants. 5) Other: Control of Schedule/cost/estimating effectiveness of 10 most recent projects, Autocadd 14 capabilities, Internet accessibilities, past litigation involvement, etc. A/E firms are required to respond in writing if interested & shall submit a completed SF 254 & SF 255 to the Ralph H. Johnson Dept. of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 109 Bee St., Charleston, SC, 29401-5799. SF 254's are NOT kept on file at this VAMC. Firms responding to this announcement by close of business (4:30 PM, Charleston, SC, time) December 18, 2000, will be considered. Firms selected for interview will be requested to present their approach for this project & demonstrate their experience. This is not a request for proposal. Contract award is subject to the availability of funds.
