Description
The work involves the rehabilitation of the North Fifth Avenue Pump Station on the Little Calumet River. Major items of work include the removal, disposal and replacement of eight storm water pumps, two dry weather pumps and two sump pumps and their motors; removal and replacement of associated piping and discharge columns and flap valves; rehabilitation of existing piping to remain; replacement and installation of HVAC and hoist equipment; replacement and installation of motor control centers, electrical power distribution, control and lighting systems and other electrical work; installation of automated pump controller system; installation of new mechanical trash rack and bar screens with associated structural concrete modifications; structural modifications to existing stairways, and installation of new ladders, stairways, hatches and grating; new supports for pumps; sediment removal from wet wells; painting and other incidental work. The NAICS code for this project is 234990 and the estimated cost range of is $1,000,000 to $5,000,000. This project is 100% set-aside for small business. This project will be issued on compact disk only and will be available on or about 01 December 2000. The closing dates for bids will be on or about 11 January 2001 at 2:00 p.m. eastern time.
