Description

Maintenance Dredging, Starlings Creek, Accomack County, VA. The work consists of maintenance dredging by hydraulic dredge and pipeline the Starlings Creek channel and turning basin as base bid dredging, and the harbor of refuge as optional bid dredging, each to a depth of 8 feet with 1 foot of allowable overdepth. The stated allowable overdepth indicated is the maximum dredging depth in accordance with the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality Water Protection Permit and is not to be exceeded. The estimated base bid dredging, including allowable overdepth and accretion is 53,000 cubic yards. The estimated optional dredging, including allowable overdepth and accretion is 10,000 cubic yards. The dredged material shall be placed in the Government furnished placement area only. As a part of the contract, the contractor shall prepare the Government furnished placement area to receive the dredged material. This work includes minor site demolition and debris removal, site clearing, ditching and excavating, dike repair and construction, discharge pipe replacement with riprap aprons and timber supports, finish grading, and all other associated work as indicated and specified. Magnitude of construction is $500,000 to $1,000,000. Duration of the project is 60 calendar days for performance. This is a SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE PROCUREMENT. Applicable SIC code is 1629, with a size standard of $27.5 million. The NAICS code is 23499. The solicitation will be available on the internet only. No paper copies or CDs will be issued.
