Description
Provide all labor, material and equipment necessary to perform dry-docking and repairs including but not limited to the following base and options items: Base items: (1) Barge Side Shell Plating Modification (2) Potable Water Tank Cleaning and Inspection (3) Ballast Tank Cleaning, Inspection and Preservation (4) Fabricate and Install New Sewage Tank (5) Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Propeller and Intermediate Shafts (6) Renew Shaft Sleeves, Propellers and Rudder Assemblies (7) Clean and Test Grid Coolers (8) Overhaul, Renew, and Test Valves (9) Renew Tender Towing Knees (10) Preserve Spud and Spud Well on Tender and Barge (10) Inspect Various Deck Fittings (10) Preserve Barge Buoy Deck (11) Preserve Underwater Body on Tender and Barge (12) Preserve Freeboard on Tender and Barge (13) Provide Temporary Logistics (14) Routine Drydocking (15) GFP Report. Option items: (1) Welding Repairs (2) Minor Coating Repairs to Tender Potable Water Tanks (3) Minor Coating Repairs to Barge Ballast Tank(s) (4) Fabricate Shaft(s) (5) Rebuild Rudder Stock (6) Renew Rudder Lower Bearing Trunk and Upper Bearing Housing and Support (7) Renew Tender and Barge Spud Well Liners (8) Ultrasonic Testing (9) Provide Additional Temporary Logistics (10) Composite Labor Rate. The small business size standard is less than 1,000 employees. The acquisition is for drydock repairs to the USCGC MUSKINGUM (WLR 75402), a 75 foot _C-Class_ river tender, and a 130 foot barge. The homeport of the cutter is Sallisaw, Oklahoma. This tender is geographically restricted to transiting the navigable portions of the Mississippi River and its tributaries above mile O of the Lower Mississippi River yearlong and south of Melvin Price Lock and Dam between 1 November to 15 March. This includes protected portions of the Intra Coastal Waterway connected to the _Western Rivers_, but specifically excludes unprotected or open waters such as Mobile Bay, Lake Borne, or the Gulf of Mexico. The performance period is 49 days and is expected to begin 5 March 2001. Plans and specifications will be issued on or around 5 December 2000. All reference documents are available for viewing at 300 East Main Street, Suite 600, Norfolk, VA 23510-9102. A non-refundable charge of $150.00 is required in the form of a certified check or money order made payable to the U.S. Coast Guard for requested drawings. Drawings are now available on CD-ROM. The CD-ROM sets are available for all cutters and will be free of charge to contractors upon request [ten (10) days from solicitation issuance]. This procurement is subject to the Small Business Competitiveness Program. All businesses, large and small, are encouraged to submit bids for the subject requirements.
