Description
1. TACOM plans to award a Multiyear, sole source firm fixed price contract to United Defense L.P. Ground Systems to procure (389) M2/M3A3 Bradley vehicles through Fiscal years 2001 to 2003 with options for up to an additional (71) vehicles in FY02 and (69) vehicles in FY03. 2. TACOM plans to make a single year purchase of (48) each Operational Desert Storm (ODS) Bradley vehicles in FY01 with an option to purchase up to (50) in FY02 and (50) in FY03. TACOM will purchase (179) M2/M3A2 ODS Applique Kits in FY01 with an option to purchase up to (143) in FY02 and (208) in FY03 3. TACOM has the requirement for options to purchase Recapitalization Material to transform M2M3/A2 vehicles into the A3 configuration up to (80) in FY02 and (160) in FY03. Included in the requirements are options to purchase up to (58) Multiple Launcher Rocket Systems (MLRS) vehicles in FY01, (58) in FY02, and (58) in FY03. 4. Spare and Repair parts for all purchased vehicles will be included in the contract. 5. The vehicles and spares will be acquired through a series of contract actions. TACOM will initially award a contract to UDLP for the M2/M3A3 vehicles and spares (FY01-03), FY01 ODS vehicles and spares, and FY01 ODS Applique Kits and spares. Vehicles in follow on years will be added to the contract as options. Following the initial award the contract will be modified to exercise any options noted above. 6. Authority 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), Justification: Supplies or services are available from only one or a limited number of responsible sources and no other type of supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within forty-five days (thirty days if award is issued under an existing basic ordering agreement) after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
