Description

D -- The U.S. Dept. of Commerce/Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) requires electronic access to corporate financial data to help in estimating national income and corporate profits on a quarterly basis. This will allow access to more companies, weekly updates of the data, and allow for computerized sorting and searching capabilities. BEA intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Standards & Poor's Institutional Market Services to provide the following two (2) "proprietary" products: 1. Compustat Research Insight Network -- Site license and CD-ROM containing financial information, adjusted for accounting differences on approximately 14,370 companies. Data history is up to 20 years for all companies with up to 48 quarters for the active companies. Approximately 275 industry aggregates are included. The report formats and custom reports can run for industries as well as individual companies. Over 85 company- formatted reports, custom reports and/or raw data may be printed or downloaded to ASCII files for use in other software such as Lotus 1-2-3, SAS, and any software accepting ASCII files. Data will be updated weekly on a CD-ROM disk; 2) Compustat Edgar Services -- Site license and CD-ROM for approximately 4,800 companies, with word-for-word, number-for-number, full-text documents that are filed with the SEC. These are the Annual Report, 10K, 10Q, 20F, and Proxy Statement with history beginning 1987. The entire database or a single company may be searched for keywords and/or items, and information maybe printed or downloaded to ASCII files by sentence, paragraph, section, or whole document. Data will be updated monthly on a CD-ROM disk. Other vendors that have the ability to provide this same type of product/service are invited to submit information as to their capabilities and any other pertinent data to the address above, to be received no later than fifteen (15) days from the date of this notice.
