Description

The COASTSYSTA intends to issue a sole-source purchase order to Litton Systems, Inc, Woodland Hills, CA for two (2) each Inertial Measurement Units. This unit was procured via competitive solicitations and was awarded to Litton Systems, Inc under Purchase Order N61331-98-M-1852. This acquisition is unsuitable for full and open competition as almost two (2) years of effort was applied to integration of the litton LN200 during 1998. Any other contractor's unit would require redevelopment of these interfaces and would delay system employment by approximately 12 months which would not be in the best interest of the Government.
