Description

Sources sought to identify, enumerate and weigh (biomass) benthic organisms collected in bottom samples from the sea floor. The bottom samples have been collected by the Govt. using different methods (Smith-McIntyre, Shipek, slurp gun, or box core) depending on sediment type and the vehicle used for collection. All samples are first preserved in formalin and then transferred to isopropyl alcohol. Contractor will sort and identify samples to the lowest practical taxa level, generally to species whenever possible. The age class of the organism should be specified, the organisms enumerated, and biomass recorded. Total period of performance will be one year, with one option year. Request solicitation in writing. This is a simplified acquisition with an estimated value of less than $100,000.
