Description

This notice is for information purposes only. A draft program solicitation, as a precursor to potentially awarding multiple financial assistance cooperative agreements, is underway. A Power Plant Improvement Initiative will demonstrate advanced coal-based technologies applicable to existing and new power plants including plants capable of producing electricity and/or some combination of heat, fuels, and/or chemicals from coal-derived synthesis gas. Following release of the draft solicitation, in December 2000, a comment and response session with potential industry partners will be conducted prior to final issuance of the program solicitation. Final issuance of the program solicitation is slated for late-January or early-February 2001 with awards expected early in fiscal year 2002. DOE will provide $95 million to fund the program, and industry must match (or exceed) the government cost share for every project, bringing the total program value to at least $190 million. DOE anticipates making multiple awards under this program solicitation. The DRAFT solicitation, DE-PS26-01NT41104 will be available via the internet for downloading as a WordPerfect 6.1 (Windows) file and/or as an Adobe Portable Document Format (pdf) file on the NETL Homepage at http://www.netl.doe.gov/business/solicit/" on or about December 6, 2000. In accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) 5.102(a)(7), interested parties are advised that availability of this PS is limited to this electronic medium and DISTRIBUTION WILL NOT BE MADE VIA DISKETTE NOR IN PAPER COPY.
