Description
Provide all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, mobilization and demobilization to install a new 6_ isolation butterfly valve w/tamper switch in the existing 6_ vertical branch line supplying the under pier Zone #2 fire protection piping system. Locate this new 6_ isolation valve in the vertical branch line at a location just above the roofline of the interior office building. Includes all wiring and conduit to tie tamper switch into existing Simplex Fire Alarm Panel. Replace existing accelerator valve located in Zone Valve #2 valve house. Remove existing accelerator valve and install new accelerator valve equal to Reliable Model B1 Accelerator w/Integral Accelo-Check. Install new under pier fire protection piping for Zone #2 area and test in the following sequence. This Zone #2 under pier fire protection piping is supplied by a 6_vertical branch line (which is to remain) from the overhead horizontal main which originates at Zone Valve #2. New Under Pier Fire Protection Piping Replacement work shall begin at the 6_ pipe joint just below the pier deck. Contractor to maintain continuous under pier existing fire protection system capability during the installation of the new under pier fire protection piping system. All new replacement fire protection piping system work shall be installed per NFPA 13 using galvanized schedule 40 pipe, black cast iron fittings, galvanized hangers and wax coated sprinkler heads. Contractor to perform a hydrostatic test at 200 psig on newly installed below pier fire protection replacement piping system and submit recorded results to Contracting Officer. After new system tie-in contractor to perform trip test (set air pressure in dry pipe system at 40 psig before trip test) and submit recorded results to Contracting Officer. Contractor to begin demolition only after above work has been installed and tested. Completely demo existing Zone #2 under pier fire protection piping system. Demolition of all of the existing Zone Valve #2 under pier fire protection pipe, fittings & hangers corresponding to zone valve #2 shall begin just below the pier deck at the first 6_ pipe joint and shall be complete. All removed pipe, fittings & hangers become the property of the contractor and shall be removed from the U.S. Coast Guard, ISC Seattle property at 1519 Alaskan Way South, Seattle, WA.
