Description

This contract is for a mobile blast, recovery, and recycling unit. The unit shall be designed for abrasive (steel) grit blasting operations and for recovery/recycling of expelled grit. The blasting equipment shall be designed to operate using an air compressor with a capacity of at least 1200 cfm. The recovery portion of the equipment shall be capable of pulling a vacuum of 27" h.g. to provide the suction necessary to recover grit through a vacuum hose up to 275' long and up a vertical rise of up to 75'. The unit shall utilize separate hoses for blasting and vacuuming operations. The recycling portion of the system shall have multiple stages designed for the separation of dust and fines from the reusable grit. The system shall have the capacity to provide eight hours of blasting capability for two operators, each blasting at a rate of at least 325 cfm. The major components of the system, which may include separate blasting/recycling and vacuum equipment, shall be skid-mounted. All equipment shall be mounted on a common trailer that is highway legal. The item shall be delivered to The US Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District, Bonneville Dam, Bonneville Dam Warehouse, Cascade Locks, OR 97014-0150. Request for Quotation (RFQ) packages will be available on or about January 26, 2001. All quotes will be due on or about February 9, 2001.
