- Description
- This is a notice of intent from the Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division to issue a Cost Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF) task order, on an other than full and open competition basis, to an existing Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA), with Northrop Grumman Corporation, South Oyster Bay Road, Bethpage, NY, 11714. The task order is for engineering support for the Theatre Ballistic Missile Defense (TBMD)Mission Team in their effort to develop an Infrared Search and Track (IRST) sensor system for integration into the E-2C aircraft. As the manufacturer of the E-2C, Northrop Grumman has a unique, in-depth corporate knowledge of the aircraft's physical structure, electrical systems, avionics and system interfaces. Additionally, Northrop Grumman is intimately familiar with U.S. Navy system requirements and design methodologies best suitd to meet those requirements. In order to reduce or eliminate system integration risks for these new systems, it is vitally important to the eventual success of the program that Northrop Grumman provide that expertise to the team. Northrop Grumman is the only firm that possesses the necessary knowledge, experience, and technical data required to perform this effort within the limited time constraints of the Navy.
