- Description
- The University of California, which operates Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) under contract to the U.S. Department of Energy, solicits Letters of Interest from companies that may wish to obtain license rights to commercialize a multifunctional, fully automated system for capturing and analyzing video-microscopic images of submicrometer and larger particles, such images being acquired with dark-field light microscopy ("Technology"). The Technology, which makes use of inexpensive hardware and innovative software, is a versatile interactive tool for studying particle motion and interaction. The Technology is embodied in a nonprovisional patent application filed with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Parties interested in this licensing opportunity must submit a Letter of Interest that provides a description of their company's business and motivation for pursuing this opportunity. Respondents are encouraged to provide additional information such as annual reports, technical publications, media releases, company brochures, and website addresses. The Letter of Interest must be received by the University by 5 January 2001. More detailed, proprietary information will be disclosed to respondents only after execution of a Nondisclosure Agreement. Respondents will be required to submit a comprehensive business plan to be considered as a qualified candidate licensee. Please send Letters of Interest to the attention of John B. Mott, Los Alamos National Laboratory, Industrial Business Development Office, Mail Stop C334, Los Alamos, New Mexico, 87545.
