- Description
- The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures of FAR Part 13 intends to issue a sole source purchase order to the American Registry of Pathology located at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology in Washington, DC. The EPA is FACNET certified. The NAICS code for this requirement is 541710. In 1998, the Arsenic Tissue Registry was established at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology (AFIP) in Washington, D.C. under interagency agreement with the National Cancer Institute, the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences and the U.S. EPA. The purpose of the Registry is to archive tissue from arsenic-exposed persons for future analyses. Under cooperative agreement with the U.S. EPA, the University of Kentucky is currently conducting a study of reproductive effects that may be associated with the ingestion of arsenic-contaminated water. The samples are currently located at the AFIP where the American Registry of Pathology is co-located. The samples are frozen, and removal to another location could cause serious tissue damage invalidating the entire analysis. The contractor shall analyze core blood, urine, and placental tissue samples for lead and total arsenic by site and arsenic species. All work is to be completed within six (6) months from date of award. NO SOLICITATION IS AVAILABLE. All questions should be directed VIA E-MAIL to the Contract Specialist. NO PHONE CALLS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
