Description

To provide all investigation, design surveys, verification of as-built conditions, construction drawings, cost estimates, phasing and estimated construction time required for a fully developed set of construction documents to replace roofs on buildings 1, 8, 9 and 13 at the VA Medical Center (Atlanta) in accordance with VA design criteria and VA program requirements. Work includes verification of existing conditions, generation of construction documents (plans and specifications) including design of protective barriers and interim life safety measures as required to maintain the current level of life safety, and construction period services. Design shall encompass replacement of all roof systems with new appropriate roof surfaces. Included are all roof systems and related subsystems such as penetrations, drainage, walkways, and replacement of the surface of the third floor exercise are in the main tower. Evaluation and resealing of all rooftop fixtures shall also be performed. All designs shall meet applicable national codes and VA design criteria. Drawings shall be provided in AutoCad 2000 format. Design specs shall be provided in MS Word 2000. The design shall ensure compliance with current VA standards and all other applicable codes and criteria. Estimated construction cost range is between $250,000 and $500,000. A/E firm must be located within 150 mile radius of work site to be considered. The NAICS code for this project is 541310. Pursuant to FAE Part 19.1007 (b), this is an unrestricted procurment Award is subject to the availability of FY 2001 funds. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL.
