Description
THIS IS NOT A NOTICE OF SOLICITATION ISSUANCE. THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION. This announcement publicizes an industry day forum on Contractor Operated Civil Engineering Supply Store (COCESS) operations in the Air Force. The COCESS program was initiated in 1970 to provide material management of parts and supplies needed for the repair and maintenance of facilities. Typical supplies include plumbing materials, electrical supplies, construction supplies such as nails, wood, paint, etc. COCESS contractors maintain centralized stores located on military installations to provide off-the-shelf parts and supplies, similar to the commercial equivalent of a hardware store, needed for the day-to-day operations and maintenance of real property primarily on AF installations. The purpose of the industry day is to obtain input in developing the next generation integrated logistical support contract to acquire and maintain supplies/materials in support of the mission. In particular, the Air Force is seeking to update its methodologies of material management and logistical support to the civil engineering community. For example, input is being sought on e-commerce capabilities, web-based catalogues, just-in-time inventory/delivery concepts, next day delivery, real time pricing data, etc. Contractors are encouraged to present their best practices or commercial techniques/methodologies to provide services for integrated supply/material management. The industry day forum is scheduled for 24 Jan 01 in Atlanta, GA. The specific location, agenda and draft Statement of Objectives (SOO) or Statement of Work (SOW) will be published in a subsequent EPS/CBD announcement in December 00. Contractors who are interested in participating in the industry day should contact HQ AFCESA/CEOM, 139 Barnes Drive Ste 1, Tyndall AFB, Florida, 32403-5319. Our point of contact is SMSgt Terry Day at (850) 283-6411 or e-mail at terry.day@afcesa.af.mil. Questions relating to acquisition matters should be directed to Maj James Andersen at (703) 588-7025 or e-mail at James.Andersen@pentagon.af.mil
