- Description
- NASA/MSFC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for simulation support to the X-33 vehicle including G&C architecture and identification of failure scenarios. The effort will simulate the X-33 vehicle to implement guidance algorithms and develop trajectory reshaping methods to deal with the failure scenario. This includes integration of the new algorithms into the high-fidelity X-33 simulation maveric, assistance in the evaluation of simulation results, and documentation of the designs and results. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/MSFC intends to contract with Barron Associates, pursuant to FAR 13.106, due to the company's knowledge and experience in the development and application of the existing simulations. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on December 15, 2000. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.
