Description

Work consists of Rental Cutterhead Pipeline Dredge with Attendant Plant and Operators for Maintenance Dredging of Principally the Black Warrior and Tombigbee River System, with Possible Assignment to the Alabama River System or the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway. This work will require dredging to depths of 13 feet or greater over channel widths of up to 200 feet at certain locations, and pumping of material to disposal areas over distances as great as 8500 feet and lifts up to 70 feet. The character of the material may range from fine silts to heavy sands and clays. The work will require a 20, 22 or 24-inch dredge with respective minimum horsepower requirements of 2100, 2200, and 2400. These requirements are due to long line lengths and high lifts that exist at various locations on the river system. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this project is 234990. Bid documents are available on or about 11 December 2000. Estimated cost of work is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Unrestricted. All responsible sources may submit a bid, which shall be considered. Bidders, subcontractors and Dodge Plan Rooms are required to self-register their firm or office on the Internet to receive one CD-ROM. Electronic medium for the bid submittal documents will not be allowed. Critical Path Method (Network Analysis System) is not required.
