Sources Sought for Upcoming Procurement/Development of 50KW Hall Thruster Please send capabilities, or direct technical questions to Robert Jankovsky, at (216) 977-7515, or email: Robert.S.Jankovsky@lerc.nasa.gov As part of the Space Transportation Program, NASA MSFC is tasked to develop technologies that enable cost and travel time reduction of inter-orbital transportation. A key technology area to meet these goals is electric propulsion. NASA GRC is responsible for the development of a Hall thruster propulsion system to help meet these goals. The current solicitation is for the development of a moderate specific impulse, 50 kW thruster capable of supporting a variety of Earth orbital, HEDS and space science missions. The successful completion of this effort is a thruster which would be part of a propulsion system enabling launch vehicle class reductions, increased payload capabilities &/or mission lifetimes (2 to 3X), a non-nuclear option for HEDS, and reduced trip times for select missions.
