Description

The Social Security Administration (SSA) intends to negotiate a renewal order for equipment rentals on a sole source basis under simplified acquisition procedures with Ascom Hasler Mailing Systems, Inc. of 19 Forest Parkway, Shelton CT 06484. SSA will use this method to continue rental on the following Ascom Hasler postage meter model quantities for the period 1/1/01 through 12/31/01: one (1) Ascom Hasler model 17563/335INS Federal Postal Meter, thirty-three (33) Ascom Hasler model 16463TMO/320INST,/335 INS Federal Postal Meters, one (1) Ascom Hasler model 16413 Federal Postal Meter, one (1) Ascom Hasler model 16463XTMO/335 Federal Postal Meter, and one (1) Ascom Hasler model B1441XTMO/220 Federal Postal Meter. Ascom Hasler is the only known source that can provide this rental, and the Ascom Hasler meters are the only meters compatible with agency-owned mail metering equipment located at SSA facilities throughout the continental US and in Hawaii. SSA does not intend to replace this equipment and will not consider proposals to replace this equipment. Interested firms able to provide the service are invited to submit information in sufficient detail to demonstrate their ability to provide the required rentals. Cross-reference to previously submitted material is discouraged. No cost or pricing data is required or requested. This is not a request for proposals (RFP) and the Government does not intend to pay for information submitted. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation of data received, but sources deemed qualified will be solicited if requests for proposal are issued. Responses to this notice should be submitted in duplicate within 10 days of the publication of this notice and should refer to "Ascom Hasler Equipment Rental."
