Description

USDA, ARS, SAA intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source, Trek Diagnostic Systems, to furnish one ARIS Sensititre machine for USDA, ARS, Athens, GA. The system requirements are as follows: semiautomated/automated system to read custom made 96 well microtitre plates. These microtitre places will have varying concentrations of antimicrobials in each well in a minimal inhibitory concentration format which will not require storage below room temperature. This system must be able to read and store the data in a manner consistent with the current system in use in the laboratory (Sensititre System). The data must be captured in a custom data base which will interface with our database which is used in analysis of the data. The system must be able to self inoculate, incubate, read and import data. No telephone inquiries will be accepted. Interested parties should submit written responses including prices and technical data sufficient to determine capability to meet the entire requirement and must be received in this office within 15 calendar days after publication of this notice. It should be noted that no contract will be awarded on the basis of offers received in response to this notice, but will be used to determine if a comparable source more advantageous to the Government is available. If no affirmative written responses are received, negotiations will be held with Trek Diagnostic Systems without further notice. This acquisition is being conducted under the Federal Acquisition Streamlining Act, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The anticipated award date is December 18,2000.
