Description

THIS IS AN INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT UNDER THE AUTHORITY OF FAR 6.302. Contract will be with Gen-Probe, Incorporated, San Diego, CA, for reagents, laboratory analyzer, materials and supplies for Chlamydia trachomatis (CT), Neisseria gonnorrhea (NG) and Mycobacterium species testing for the period 1 March 2001 through 30 September 2001 (plus 4 one-year option periods). This is a sole source procurement because Gen-Probe is the only known source for this equipment that has the required FDA approvals and pateneted genetic probe technology. Interested parties may identify interest and capability by submitting technical and pricing data within 15 days of publication of this notice to the address above. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals, however, all proposals received within 15 days after publication of this notice will be considered by the Government. No contract will be awarded on the basis of offers received in response to this notice, but will be used to determine if a comparable source or offerors are available and more advantageous to the Government. If no affirmative written response is received, the contract will be awarded without further notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on this notice is solely withing the discretion of the Government.
