Description

The Ballistic Missile Defense Organization (BMDO), intends to award a sole source contract to National Academy of Sciences-National Research Council (NAS/NRC) to perform a study that examines the state of technology supporting ballistic missile defense discrimination, hit-to-kill homing guidance, and kill assessment for the National Missile Defense (NMD) Program. The limited, but focused, study will provide recommendations on the value of research and technology development underway; determine technology gaps, redundancies, and synergies; and offer recommendations on verification testing and other areas with high potential investment payoff. The Government anticipates a six (6) month Cost Reimbursement, no fee contract. Award of the contract will be made pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). The contractor is required to submit their corporate experience, security clearances, familiarity with NMD program, and a listing of technical researcher capabilities and staff who have the types of technology in association with discrimination, hit-to-kill homing guidance, and kill assessment.
