Description

The VA Boston Healthcare System seeks a contractor to provide all material, labor, supplies, equipment, superintendence, services and facilities necessary to perform work associated with an eight room operating suite's isolated power. Work includes general construction, temporary protection, alterations, mechanical and electrical work, protection of and removal/reinstallation of existing medical equipment, protection of and removal/re-installation of existing finishes and devices as necessary to complete the work as shown in the contract documents. All work will be performed at the VA Boston Healthcare System's VA Medical Center, 150 South Huntington Avenue, Boston, MA 02130-4893. Estimated construction cost range is between $5,00,000 and $1,000,000. Construction duration is 180 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed. Request for bid documents must be in writing, and accompanied by a refundable cashier's check or money order (no personal or company checks) in the amount of $50.00 made payable to the Department of Veterans Affairs. A limited number of packages are available and will be issued on a first-come-first-serve basis. No telephone, facsimile or e-mail requests will be honored. Plans and specifications are also available from Local Plan Rooms. This solicitation is 100% set aside for Small Business. The Standard Identification Code (SIC) is 1731 and the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is 23531 with a size standard of $11.5 Million. Award is subject to the availability of funds. Issue date for solicitation packages is on or about December 18, 2000 with the BOD on January 18, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. Local Time;
