Description

The Salt Lake City Bureau of Reclamation has a requirement for the replacement of runners on eight Francis-Type Hydraulic Turbines at the Glen Canyon Power Plant, on the Colorado River in the vicinity of Page, Arizona. The principal feature of work to be performed is furnishing and installing eight replacement runners and cones, wicket gates, stationary wear rings and furnishing spare stationary wear rings for the existing turbines. The generators can only be worked one at a time during approximately October through March of each year. Disassembly and reassembly of the generators will be accomplished by the Government, and disassembly and reassembly of the turbines will be accomplished by the successful offeror. A hydraulically homologous model to be tested will be required of the successful offeror. Offerors will be evaluated on their proposed warranted efficiencies, the amount of successful past performance of similar requirements, the quality and capabilities of their proposed manufacturing facilities, price and other factors. It is anticipated a site visit will be held approximately sometime between February 20th and March 6th, 2001. The exact site visit date and time will be specified in the solicitation. It is anticipated the solicitation will be issued by approximately January 29, 2001 with the due date for proposals approximately April 5, 2001. There will be a $50 nonrefundable fee for the solicitation.
