Description

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6 of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is RFQ N00124-01-Q-0060 and this solicitation is issued as a Request for Quote(RFQ). Delivery shall be FOB Destination to Naval War College, NWC Receiving, Building 12, 12 Chandler Street, Newport, Rhode Island 02841. Invoice shall be sent to Naval War College, 686 Cushing Road, Newport, Rhode Island 02841. Delivery shall be made 30 days after award. Facsimile quotes will be accepted and shall be adressed to Kathie A. Curran, Contracting Officer, FX (401) 841-3567. The due date and time for receipt of quote is 2:00 p.m Eastern Standard Time on December 16, 2000. The item description is as follows: Purchase of 2,000 each paperback books, Title: "Masters of War: Classical Strategic Thought", By Michael T. Handel, ISBN: 0714681326, 3rd Rev. Ed. and the Purchase of 100 each Hardcover books, Title: "Masters of War: Classical Strategic Thought", By Michael T. Handel, ISBN: 0714650919, 3rd Rev. Ed. The provision at FAR 52.212-1, Instruction of Offerors-Commercial, applies to this solicitation. The clause at FAR 52-212.2, Evaluation of Commercial items, applies to this solicitation. The clause at FAR 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions-Commercial items applies to this solicitation. The Clause at FAR 52.212-5 Contract Terms and Conditions required to Implement Statues or Executive Orders-Commercial items, applies to this solicitation. The Following clauses also apply to this solicitation FAR 52.232.33 Payment by Electronic Funds Transfer. DFAR 252.204-7004 Required Central Contract Registration. For solicitations after 1 Jun 98 all contractors are required to be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR)for award. All quoted must reference the solicitation number and the due date for receipt of quotes. In addition to this, each quote must contain the name, address and telephone number of the offeror as well as any discount terms that are offered and the remit to address (if different from the mailing address). Any amendments hereby issued to this solicitation will be synopsized in the same manner as this solicitation and must be acknowledged by each quoter. Any quote or modifications to quotes received after the specified due date for receipt of quotes will not be considered. The Government will award a purchase order resulting from this solicitation to a responsible quoter whose quote conforms to the solicitation and is considered most advantageous to the Government. Award will be made on the basis of low overall price. Quoter shall specify business size and classification as required in FAR 52.212-3.
