Description
The Postal Service requires the removal of more than 800 of its replaced 881 Flat Sorter Mail Processing Machines from some 500 sites nationwide. These 14,000 pound (approx.) machines, containing steel, aluminum, plastic, electrical wiring, and other materials are placed on pallets by the Postal Service and made ready for pickup. These machines are believed to contain valuable salvageable and recyclable content. Specific locations of the palletized machines are available, and detailed specifications, description, and layout of the pre-palletized machine are available for review by likely offerors. In accordance herewith, competitive offers are solicited for individual locations, regional, and national removal of the palletized machines. The offer(s) that provide the Postal Service the best value will, after proper evaluation and approval, be accepted. The evaluation will consider eligible offerors' demonstrated capability, compliance with the provided statement of work, and offered price. All requests for solicitation must represent that the requester is a potential offeror and must be submitted by e-mail to kcox2@email.usps.gov.(Please cc:rbatts@email.usps.gov.) The Solicitation Mailing List will be created, and the solicitation will be provided on 11 December 2000 to all potential offerors requesting it. Offers will be due by 22 December 2000 for 29 December 2000 award(s). We request that all subsequent communication regarding the requirement be by e-mail. The contact person is Karen Cox, who can be reached, if necessary, at telephone number 703 280-7961. To the extent that contracts have not been awarded for recycling/disposal of all machines on 29 December 2000, the solicitation and contract period may be extended indefinitely.
