Description
Synopsis Sealed bids from all business concerns will be accepted for the Blue Ridge Parkway Project BLRI 2L11, M21, Mitchell and McDowell Counties, North Carolina. The project consists of resurfacing, drainage, miscellaneous work from MP 327.5 (McKinney Gap) to MP 336.8 (Wildacres Tunnel). The work includes removal of various items; the placement of aggregate-topsoil; the construction of asphalt paved waterway, steel backed timber guardrail, erosion control mat, and the placement of construction and permanent traffic control items; the pavement will be HACP wedge and leveling and surface courses OR milling and cold recycled asphalt. The project is expected to fall within the price range of $1,000,000 to $5,000,000. Bid documents are scheduled to be issued on or about December 18, 2000. Bids will be due on or about January 16, 2001. Interested parties should telephone 800-892-8776 to order bid documents. There is no fee for bid documents. DOT's Bonding Assistance Program (BAP) offers bid, performance and payment bonds on contracts up to $1,000,000. DOT's Short-Term Lending Program (STLP) offers lines of credit to finance accounts receivable. Maximum line of credit is $500,000 with interest at the prime rate.
