Description

The Maintenance and Logistics Command Pacific, Naval Engineering Division intends to contract for dry-dock and repair of USCGC POLAR STAR (WAGB 10). This work is to be accomplished at the Contractor_s facilities. The definite work items include but are not limited to: Voids Preserve and Leak Test, Hull Plating, Underwater Body Inspection, Tanks Clean and Inspect, Renew ALCO Main Diesel Engine Mounts, Wing Propulsion Shaft Coating Inspect and Test, Propulsion Shaft Seal Renew, Stern Tubes and Oak Rub Rail Renewal, Trust Bearing Fastener Renewal, Propulsion shafting and Propeller Removal and Reinstallation, Install Shaft Coupling Hydraulic Bolts, Propulsion Shaft Stern Tube Bearings Check Clearances, Electric Meter Calibration, SSDG_s Salt Water Cooling Piping Renewal, 19-Inch Navigation Searchlight Replacement and Relocation, Fathometer Transducer Renewal, Steam Reheater Coil Cleaning & Hydro Test, Vent Ducts Inspect and Clean, Sea Trainer Inspection, Sea Valve (<=2.5 Inches) Renewal, Sea Valve (> 2.5 Inches) Overhaul, Firemain Valves (<=2.5 Inches) Renewal, Firemain Valves (> 2.5 Inches) Overhaul, Air Receiver Inspections and Test, CHS isolation Valve Inspection, Rudder Inspect and Repair, Rudder Stock Bearings Check Clearances, Anchor Windlass Control Valve overhaul, Crescent Davit Level 2 Inspection and Repair, 15-Tone Crane Level 1 Inspection and Test, Miscellaneous Sewage Piping Renewal, Sewage holding Tank Clean and Inspect, Pilothouse Heated Window Installation, Bearing Compartment Preservation, Sea Water Strainer Compartment Preservation Forward and Aft, Hull Plating, U/W Body Preserve, Partial, Cathodic Protection/Zinc Renew/Replace, Turbine Exhaust Duct Support Inspection, Motor Room Hull Reinsulation, Temporary Messing and Berthing (Partial) Homeport, Drydock Accomplish. Option work items include but are not limited to: Air Test of Voids, Propulsion Shaft Coating Renew/Replace, Centerline propulsion Shaft Coating Inspect and Test, Centerline Stern Tube Oak Rub Rail Renewal, Centerline Propulsion Tailshaft Removal and Reinstallation, Hull Plating, Freeboard Preserve, 100%, Centerline Stern Tube zinc Anode Renewal. This solicitation will be issued pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. Solicitation will be issued on or about December 27, 2000 with a proposal closing date of 31 January 2001. Period of performance will commence 9 May 2001 and conclude 31 July 2001. This will be an unrestricted best value procurement. For Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises to acquire short-term working capital assistance for transportation-related contracts, loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at the prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing.
