- ISSUE DATE: 01/02/01. Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, supervision and disposal necessary to Replace Windows at USCG Station Eatons Neck, Northport, NY. The work includes the following work: Remove and dispose of existing wood windows and trim, including attached aluminum storm windows. Existing wood window sash and window frames are coated with lead containing paint. New true divided light wood windows, with new exterior and interior trim. New wood shingles around each new window stained white. New wood exterior shutters. Patching existing gypsum board at interiors where new windows are installed. Disconnecting and re-connecting surface mounted items on the exterior of the building. Painting new shutters, interior trim and other items as indicated on drawings. There is an optional bid item to include removing 13 existing basement windows, and providing 13 new operable basement windows with insulating glass. Basement window replacement includes new wood interior trim, sealing around new windows, and patching/painting gypsum board at interior side of openings. Estimated cost range of this project is between $100,000 and $250,000. Solicitation packages to be available on or about 01/02/01. The bid opening date is scheduled for 02/02/01 at 2:00 pm local time. Our office no longer issues solicitations or amendments in paper form. A bidders list is no longer available. This project is issued pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program, and is unrestricted. THE FOLLOWING NOTICE IS PROVIDED AS INFORMATION FOR MINORITY, WOMEN-OWNED, AND DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS ENTERPRISES: The Dept of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, payment and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are available under the DOT Short-term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The max. line of credit is $500,000.
