Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, and the test program in FAR Subpart 13.5 as well as supplemental information provided herein as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) intends to award a sole source contract to Avax International, 8 Thompson Crescent, Erin, Ontario, NOB IT0, Canada. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. An Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) type contract that will consist of 1 (one) base year and 1 (one) option for additional quantities is anticipated. This requirement is for the acquisition of: A Digital Linear Tapes (DLTs) multiple tape duplicating system. The DLT is a standard format that replaced older tape formats such as the IBM 3490 and IBM 3480 for many purposes. This format has a much higher capacity and a lower error-rate. The PTOs requirement is that this system has to allow for direct tape-to-tape duplication of DLT tapes, self-contained and without the need for direct access to a server. This solicitation incorporates all of the applicable provisions and clauses in effect through FAC 97-20, as if stated in full text, as well as the terms and conditions of FAR 52.212-1. However, any responsible firms who believe they have the ability to furnish the above equipment are requested to submit a written proposal by December 11th, 2000. All proposals shall reference requisition No. 192P0150038 and shall be submitted to the following address: United States Patent and Trademark Office, Office of Procurement, Box 6, Washington, DC 20231. Attention: Marva D. Brown. Any response to this synopsis shall include pricing and technical data and literature sufficient to enable the Government to assess the character and performance of the source and item quoted.
