Description

Air Force Research Laboratory, Materials and Manufacturing Directorate, Nonmetallic Materials Division,(AFRL/MLBT), solicits research proposals for a program entitled, " Advanced Nonstructural Materials". This is an on-site effort where all work will be performed, on base, at Wright-Patterson AFB OH. This will be an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) type contract with cost-reimbursement type delivery order(s). Offerors are asked to read the full solicitation with attachments in order to fully understand the complete effort. The solicitation provides the due dates for cost and technical proposals. Please carefully review Section L of the Request for Proposal for any additional information/instructions. This is a full and open competitive effort with no restrictions as to who may bid on this program. The principal objective of this effort is to perform research and development and technology transition (RD&T) on advanced nonstructural materials including but not limited to lubricants, tribological and aerospace coatings and functional fluids. The RD&T will also include the evaluation of new and/or modified nonstructural materials and the development of new/improved laboratory test procedures, analytical and modeling techniques for materials performance determination and characterization. Such nonstructural materials are subsequent candidates for use in advanced air, space, and existing Air Force assets and weapon system applications.
